Tsuda Kazumasa (津田算正)

Kazumasa TSUDA (year of birth unknown - April 22, 1585) was a busho (Japanese military commander) in the Azuchi-Momoyama period. He was the eldest son of Kazunaga TSUDA. His younger brother was Shozan SUGINOBO (adopted son of Taekazu TSUDA) who became the originator of the gunnery Hojutsu Juyusairyu. He was a leader of Nishiguchi of Negoro-ji Temple. He was referred to as Tarozaemon kenmotsu (an auditor Nakatsukasa sho, the Ministry of Civil Affairs).

Brief Personal History

In 1568, he succeeded the family estate after the death of his father Kazunaga and was referred to as kenmotsu (an auditor Nakatsukasa sho, the Ministry of Civil Affairs).

In 1577, he served Nobunaga ODA and was assigned to deal with Saiga shu (Ikko groups) as the lord of Sano-jo Castle in Izumi Province.

In 1584, he joined the Battle of Komaki and Nagakute on the Tokugawa side and threatened the back of the Toyotomi side.

On March 23, 1585, he resisted the attack on Kishu by Hideyoshi TOYOTOMI, but Negoro-ji Temple fell and was killed during escape.
